Slate is a city snail with a tough exterior and a heavy heart. Once part of the main colony, Slate left everything behind after his mom passed away, seeking refuge in the fast-paced world of the city. He wasn’t always the hardened, street-smart snail he appears to be now. The city forced him to bottle up his emotions, burying his pain beneath layers of sarcasm and confidence. His “Mom” tattoo is the only hint of the snail he used to be—gentler, softer, and deeply connected to his roots. Now, Slate spends his days navigating the urban sprawl, relying on his wit and toughness to survive, even if it means keeping everyone at a distance.
