This snailz name is Cobber.

Cobber is an old tunneler, and it shows. His back’s gone, his fluppers click when he moves, and he walks with a slow, steady determination. He spent most of his life underground, digging deeper and further than any snail had reason to, and now that he’s up top, he refuses to ever go back. Every morning he shuffles out to sit in the sunlight, his beady black eyes scanning the world like it’s all brand new. His family worry about him, say he should rest, take it easy, but Cobber just chuckles. “I didn’t survive a lifetime in the dark just to waste the daylight,” he says, and then he goes quiet, watching the sky like it might disappear.
